Terms of Service

Effective date: 5 August 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mypinbite mobile app and website (the "Service"), operated by Karim El Atab Dit El Daya ("mypinbite", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure — your password, or the Apple or Google account you sign in with. Tell us promptly at privacy@mypinbite.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

2. Roles

The Service has three account types: general (browse, search, save, like, follow people, create and join shared lists, and send list invites), curator (all of the above, plus publish places, dishes, and reviews), and admin. Curator status is granted at our discretion and may be changed or revoked. (Today the catalog's places, dishes, and editorial takes are published by mypinbite itself; curator attribution, when it launches, is an opt-in programme for food writers.) We may add, remove, or change roles and features over time.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or infringe anyone's rights (including intellectual-property or privacy rights);
  • post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, hateful, harassing, obscene, or spam;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • upload images or text you do not have the right to use;
  • scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data, or interfere with or attempt to breach the Service's security or infrastructure;
  • submit knowingly false or bad-faith reports about other users or content;
  • send unwanted invites or use lists, invites, or follows to harass others;
  • use the Service to advertise without our permission.

4. Your content

  • You keep ownership of the content you create (places, dishes, reviews, photos, lists, etc.) ("User Content").
  • You grant Karim El Atab Dit El Daya a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must retain by law or that persist in service-provider backups for a limited period.
  • You represent that you own or have the rights to your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.
  • Content you add to a shared list is visible to that list's members and may remain on the list (attributed to you) while you are a member.

5. Content about restaurants and other people

Reviews and recommendations are personal opinions of the user who posted them, not statements of fact by mypinbite. Catalog content written by mypinbite itself — including each place's "Our take" — is our good-faith editorial opinion, based on research of public sources and, where marked, our own visits; it is not an advertisement or a paid placement (we do not accept payment for placement). When you write about a business or a person:

  • only post information you have the right to share;
  • do not imply endorsement, affiliation, or partnership that does not exist;
  • respect publicity, image, and privacy rights.

If you are a restaurant, curator, or individual and believe content about you is inaccurate or infringes your rights, contact us at privacy@mypinbite.com and we will review it.

6. Moderation & reporting

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Every place, review, dish, and profile can be reported from inside the app (the flag / "Report" controls); we review reports promptly — normally within 24 hours — and remove content or accounts that violate these Terms. We may, but are not obligated to, review, edit, or remove any content, and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the Service or its users. Admins can remove or edit content to maintain quality and safety.

7. Our intellectual property

The mypinbite name, logo, design, and software are owned by Karim El Atab Dit El Daya and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without permission.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties — for example Supabase (database and authentication), Apple and Google (optional sign-in), MapTiler and OpenStreetMap (maps), Anthropic and Voyage AI (search and content drafting), PostHog (analytics), Foursquare (place lookup), and the app stores — and may link to third-party content. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, which are governed by their own terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings, dishes, hours, locations, reviews, or other information are accurate, complete, or current. Use the Service at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karim El Atab Dit El Daya is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free service, may be zero).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Karim El Atab Dit El Daya from claims arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account directly in the app (Profile → Delete account); deleting your account permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to a different forum.

14. App stores (Apple & Google)

If you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to those stores' terms. For Apple: these Terms are between you and Karim El Atab Dit El Daya only, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its support, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce these Terms.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a revised effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
